Thyrax

Thyrax Doutab 100mg is a medicine that stimulates the functioning of the thyroid gland. It can also be used to inhibit the functioning of the thyroid gland. It should then be used in combination with a Thyrax Doutab 100mg. It is also used to enlarge the thyroid gland, to suppress thyroid cancer after tumor removal and to suppress the functioning of the thyroid gland in case of diagnostic examination.

Hypothyroidism, a disorder in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone, is treated with Thyrax duotab. Thyroid cancer is also treated with it in conjunction with radioactive iodine therapy and surgery. Levothyroxine belongs to a group of drugs known as hormones. It functions by taking the place of thyroid hormone, which the body typically produces.

Poor growth, slow speech, lack of energy, excessive fatigue, constipation, weight gain, hair loss, dry, thick skin, increased sensitivity to cold, joint and muscle pain, heavy or irregular menstrual periods, and depression can all be consequences of thyroid hormone deficiency. Levothyroxine reverses these symptoms when taken as prescribed.

How does Thyrax Duotab work?

The medicine Thyrax Doutabo 100mg contains the active substance levothyroxine. This is a thyroid hormone that can already be found in the human body. Tasks such as body growth and metabolism differ here. As soon as there is a shortage of this hormone, one can feel cold, listless and energyless. Thyrax Doutabo 100mg then contributes to replenishing the deficiency of levothyroxine. It is also possible that the thyroid gland is overactive. As a result, you may be short of breath, experience palpitations, or have diarrhea. This medicine should then be used together with another medicine to reduce the symptoms.

How is Thyrax used and what is the dose?

Levothyroxine comes as a tablet and a capsule to take by mouth. It normally is taken once a day on an empty stomach, 30 minutes to 1 hour before breakfast. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Follow the directions on levothyroxine precisely. Never take more or less of it, or take it more frequently than your doctor has suggested.

Do not chew or crush the capsules; instead, swallow them whole. Wait until you’re ready to take the capsule before taking it out of the container.

Because the tablets can induce choking or gagging or become caught in your throat, take them with a full glass of water.

When administering levothyroxine to a child, adult, or infant who is incapable of swallowing the tablet, break it up and combine it with 1 to 2 teaspoons (5 to 10 milliliters) of water. Do not combine the crushed tablets with food or soybean baby formula; just mix them with water. Serve this combination immediately with a spoon or dropper. Never put it away to use later.

Most likely, your doctor will start you on a low dosage of levothyroxine and increase it gradually.

Levothyroxine does not treat hypothyroidism; it only manages it. You might not observe a change in your symptoms for a few weeks. Despite feeling better, keep taking levothyroxine. Levothyroxine should never be stopped without first consulting your doctor.

Thyrax is available in 0.025 mg, 0.100 mg and 0.150 mg tablet form. Usually, a low dose is started over a longer period of time. Stopping abruptly is not recommended, even if the symptoms appear to have diminished. Take in the morning with water, half an hour before breakfast. To facilitate ingestion in babies, the tablet may be placed on a spoonful of water, after which it should be consumed immediately.

When should you not use Thyrax Duotab?

You should not use Thyrax in the following cases:

• you are allergic to levothyroxine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine

What are the possible side effects of  Thyrax duotab?

Thyrax can cause side effects, but not every user has to experience them. These are the most common side effects related to taking too high a dose:

• Overactive thyroid
• Increased heartrate
• palpitations
• Irregular heartbeat
• red face
• sore muscles

Thyrax Duotab is generally used as a supplement in case of an insufficient functioning of the thyroid gland (hypothyroidism). Thyrax Duotab is also used in goiter (deformation of the thyroid gland in which it is enlarged), in thyroid cancer after removal of the tumor and to suppress thyroid activity during diagnostic research. Thyrax Duotab can also be used in combination with a medicine that inhibits the production of thyroid hormone (thyroid) in case of an excessive functioning of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism).
