Zopiclone Side Effects
Zopiclone Tablet BP 7.5mg is a type of sleeping pill that can be taken to treat bad bouts of insomnia. It helps you fall asleep more quickly, and also helps stop you waking up during the night. Zopiclone comes as tablets. It also comes as a liquid for people who find it hard to swallow tablets, but this has to be ordered specially by your doctor.
Zopiclone is a nonbenzodiazepine, more precisely a cyclopyrrolone, that is used to treat sleep disorders. It is marketed under several brand names, including Imovane. Zopiclone belongs to the cyclopyrrolone class and differs molecularly from benzodiazepines. However, by regulating GABAA receptors in a manner similar to that of benzodiazepine medicines, zopiclone increases the normal transmission of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the central nervous system, causing drowsiness without the anti-anxiety effects of benzodiazepines. zopiclone side effects.
Zopiclone is a sedative. It functions by calming or depressing the central nervous system. The body may adjust to zopiclone’s effects after extended use. Withdrawal symptoms may occur if the dosage is subsequently lowered or the medication is stopped suddenly. A variety of symptoms that resemble those of benzodiazepine withdrawal may be among them. Patients may become so agitated or anxious that they seek emergency medical assistance, even though withdrawal symptoms from therapeutic doses of zopiclone and its isomers (i.e., eszopiclone) do not usually manifest as convulsions and are therefore not regarded as life-threatening.
